5-7pm: Le Cirque de Comedie
Roll up, roll up! Le Cirque de Comedie is coming to Hastings White Rock, and you can be part of it! Join the White Rock Youth Theatre’s Comic Carnival filled with music, mayhem, and mirth. Learn circus skills, try balloon-modelling, perform magic, have your fortune told, visit stalls like the tin-can alley, watch amazing acts, interactive performances, and more. Suitable for ages 4 to 104! No need to book, just turn up and join in the fun
5-7pm: Carnival Making Workshop
Ahead of the Fat Tuesday Umbrella Parade, come and pimp your umbrella and help create the spirit of carnival at this interactive workshop. You will need an hour of your time, although you are welcome to stay as long as you want, and most importantly bring an UMBRELLA if you can. We will have an array of materials to use but feel free to bring along anything of your own. Please note children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
5-7pm: Music Makers Market
Music industry market, showcasing local businesses, with merch, demos, information and more! As part of the wider celebrations, these indoor ‘markets’ will showcase the music services available on your doorstep! Records will be spun at the event, and will be for sale.
Epic Light & Sound Installations
Hastings Town Centre – FREE
6-8pm: Light Up Hastings, Town Centre
Watch the old Debenhams building be brought to life with a large-scale projected artwork animating the building with motion and colour.
The four minute film will be on a 20-minute loop with 6 showings between 6pm and 8pm. Visual content by VFX artist Adam Seeley with a soundscape created by composer Edward Blakeley
5-7pm: Bell Orchestra, Town Centre
An interactive musical instrument that invites audiences of all ages to come together to play beautiful melodies on a set of giant chimes. Guided by performers you will follow patterns and improvisational instructions to strike the chimes to create a striking sound and a memorable moment of togetherness
5-6pm: Busking Stage, Trinity Triangle
Enjoy the best musicians Hastings has to offer on our outdoor lit-up stage. Featuring live performances from local folk/country finger picker Jason McNiff alongside indie folk singer-songwriter Lily Ramona
5-8pm: Museum of Us, Trinity Triangle
A travelling museum celebrating the people of Hastings. Visitors to the museum will be able to donate items. Bags and labels will be provided and there will be a camera and printer to photograph objects if needed. Museum of Us is created by local artist Jazmine Miles-Long
Dressing the Town
Keep a look out for Radiator Arts’ colourful artworks adorning the streets and catch the carnival colours of the temporary street art by artists Charlotte Sometimes and Kate Bruce that will be brightening up the town
